This small town Fairplay wedding day felt EXTRA special. Lizzie was our son, Neeson’s, 4th grade teacher, and when I tell ya there’s no one quite like her, I really mean it. As a teacher I knew she was so cool, and then having the opportunity to get to know her on a more personal level as we prepped for her wedding my feelings were confirmed. She & James are THE BEST & this was the best day.
Set to the local Park County backdrop of backcountry Alma for their ceremony & @highsidebrewing for their small town Fairplay wedding reception, it felt a whole lot like celebrating at home with old friends.
The wildflowers were abundant & so was the joy.
Lizzie DIY’d their flowers & it was like she ran through the meadow and scooped them all up in her arms. Colorful & unkept, they were the perfect pairing to a their casual, stunning day. With views like they had, no other decor was necessary.
What Lizzie & James’s small town Fairplay wedding day reminded me was that you don’t need hundreds of guests or the fanciest venue to celebrate real love. So often the best days are the ones like this – filled with family & friends, Pretzel the pup, good food & drinks, and a good pair of party pants.
Our small mountain town community is so lucky to love these two.
