That’s exactly why I'm so passionate about telling your crew's sweet story through documentary family photography in the Colorado mountains.
I'm Shanna - a mom & family photographer in Fairplay, CO. The choice to create a family isn't a small one. It's every day. All day. It's forever. I never had a dream job. But then - motherhood. And shortly after, photography.
I know all about being a mama. We've got 3 (yes, three!) rowdy not-so-little boys of our own. they're why i picked up a camera in the first place.
Caffeine & dance parties.
The capture the chaos - every mundane & beautiful part. The tiny toes & messy curls. Belly laughs & freckled noses. Giggles & tears. Shoes on the wrong feet. A mis-matched shirt button.

Short answer: nope. Longer (but still brief) answer: We take a more natural, lifestyle-driven approach to family sessions. Instead of traditional backdrops, we’ll work with you to find a location that actually fits your crew's vibe, whether that’s your home, favorite hiking trail, a local Airbnb you've rented, or a spot we share with you. We’ll chat through your vision and help you choose a space that best tells your sweet story.
Can you bring BACKDROPS to use?
It's hard to say exactly - but it's a lot! I want you to have all the best ones, and I know that sometimes my favorites won't always be the same as yours! Contractually, we promise a minimum of 40 final images per shooting hour.
Mini sessions may have a specific deliverable amount.
HOW MANY EDITED PHOTOS WILL I GET?
In short? However you want for personal use! Social media - absolutely! Print your faves as giant canvases or photo books? Ever better! You'll get personal usage rights for your full gallery. Although tagging us isn’t mandatory if you use your photos and videos on your social media accounts - we'd sure love it! It's always so fun to see your favorites.
HOW CAN I USE my final photos?
Sometimes! We’re pretty obsessed with our local Breckenridge & Fairplay locations, but will hit the road (or the trail) occasionally for families that we think are super cool and align with our work. Just ask, and we’ll include any necessary travel fees in your custom quote.
