Smart Ways to Plan your Fall Breckenridge Elopement

A fall Breckenridge Elopement can be every bit as magical as you’d imagine – as Audrey + Tomonori’s day clearly shows! There are a few things to keep in mind as you’re piecing together the details. These are 5 tips to ensure your elopement is ready for everything the mountains have to offer during the season of color!

Audrey + Tomo, like so many in the world of Covvid, had to rethink their wedding plans. When they first reached out to us, they simply wanted a beautiful ceremony in an accessible spot for her parents to be there to witness. If it was dog friendly, too – even better!

Their early October date was right off the height of the gorgeous colors in Breckenridge, and we were thrilled to get the vibrant golden ground cover & even some remaining of the aspens.

We thoughtfully & intentionally pieced together their day, and couldn’t be more thrilled with how it all turned out. It wasn’t at all what they’d planned, but more beautiful than they could have imagined.

As we were planning Audrey + Tomo’s fall elopement in Breckenridge, there were a few things we needed to consider.

Be thoughtful when choosing your location!

This goes with every season, but consider all the factors when choosing locations. How many guests you’re having can be a main determining factor in where you can go. Other factors to consider: how many vehicles & available parking; necessary permits; comfort with backroad driving; altitude/elevation & your and your guests health; privacy; desired views, etc. Local vendors can help with this!

Prepare for any weather.

Fall weather in Breckenridge can be fickle, so you’ll want to be prepared for anything! You could get a 65 & sunny day. It could be raining. It could be snowing & 30. Being prepared *and willing to roll with whatever weather your day holds* are important to a successful elopement day!

Have a Plan B.

The mountains have a mind of their own, so you’ll want to put together a Plan B, just in case. Stormy weather could hit. Your original location could be too muddy or the road could close. A well-thought out Plan B can help eliminate the last minute stress a situation like that can cause.

Dress & pack appropriately!

Think about getting a dress with sleeves. Plan out a couple options for footwear. Pick out a jacket or shawl you can bring along, as well as a favorite blanket. WATER, snacks!

Hire local vendors!

As always, local vendors will be able to help guide you with your decision-making and are more able to pivot at the last minute if you need to change your plans, as they won’t be traveling to your locations AND are aware of different backup options, updated road closures, etc. Plus, supporting business owners who live in the place you love enough to choose for your elopement is such a happy dance moment!

Your elopement day is sure to be a dream, just like Audrey + Tomo’s!
