Eloping means you’ve got far fewer decisions to make – yay! One thing you definitely shouldn’t skip, though, is thinking about your elopement flower style! Here are some tips to help narrow down all the possibilities.
If you haven’t met the lovely Nicole of Woodland Breck yet, now is your chance! She creates gorgeous florals & is sharing some tips to lock in your perfect elopement flower style!
1. Tell us a bit about you, Nicole. (This is Nicole shown below!)
Hi there! My name is Nicole Dollar and I have been in Breck for about 6 1/2 years now and moved out here with my sweet husband Cody. We have owned Woodland for 1 year now (woohoo!) but I have been in the florist in the county for 6. I went to school for fashion merchandising but when I moved out to the mountains, I fell into floral design and haven’t looked back since!
2. What should couples consider when dreaming up their elopement flowers?
Always consider where you are having your ceremony at! Are you going to be truckin up the mountain for those amazing views? Letting your florists know some details about your big day will allow us to suggest heartier flowers, vases for easier transport, etc.
3. How can couples know what will work best for their elopement? Can the season their elopement is in affect their choices?
Talk it out with your florist if you have any questions or concerns regarding certain looks. Seasons can definitely affect availability and the longevity of your flowers! For our winter/cold weather elopements in Colorado, flowers can freeze very easily and won’t have the longevity of lasting longer than the day but you’ll get some amazing photos in the snow!
4. What are some fun ways couples can think outside of the box with their flowers?
Just because you are eloping, doesn’t mean you can’t have it all! Always wanted to feel like a princess with a flower crown? Do it! Want your furry friend to have a leash and collar full of greenery? Do it! Also, never be afraid of color and texture!
We hope this helps you as you’re thinking about your elopement flowers!
Nicole is one of the few Summit County florists who still offer elopement packages! She books 3 months out and has limited availability, so don’t wait too long to inquire with her!
