We absolutely love Breckenridge – who doesn’t?! It’s a popular mountain destination, year round, and for good reason! World class skiing, gorgeous views, hiking, shopping, amazing restaurants – there is something for literally everyone!
But it’s no secret that it can get crowded. All the reasons that make it amazing can also contribute to the reasons it can sometimes feel a little overwhelming, too.
We can relate. That’s why we chose to settle down & build our dream home tucked in the woods between Fairplay & Alma! There’s a time and place for all of it, but sometimes you just want to lose yourself, right? Not in the crowds, but in the trees. Not in the movement, but in the peace.
Enter: Alma, CO (and really, Park County, in general!).
Amy & Justin wanted a simple, quiet elopement day. No crowds, no fuss – just their love & family. I knew a spot away from the hustle of Summit County would be perfect for them.
Alma, CO is a quaint town at the base of the south side of Hoosier Pass and the proud home of gems like Otto’s Food Truck and Bristlecone Bakery. It’s amazing how quiet it is less than 30 minutes away! Once you’re at the top of Hoosier, you cross from Summit County to Park County, where time literally seems to slow down.
We met at the beautiful Montgomery Reservoir for their first look & ceremony, and the made the quick drive back to the summit of Hoosier Pass where we hiked to the perfect overlook tucked just near the trail for private vows, a picnic, and portraits.
It was such a magical day & the most perfect summer elopement in Alma, CO.

Upon receiving our gallery, all I could think was: “What kind of magic does one possess, to successfully capture every moment of love and beauty, happiness and magic of the day?!” The lighting was to die for, the color tones are everything I could dream of, and the happiness radiating on everyone’s faces just seals the deal for me. Thanks to Shanna’s creativity, I felt like my day looked like a page out of an Anthro catalog, and to say I’m obsessed, is taking the word lightly. Every time I thumb through our photos, I get to relive the joy and tenderness of those moments over and again.
Shanna is incredible and delivers above and beyond what one could hope for; I have no regrets whatsoever!
