Is hiking so not your thing? We get it! Guess what? Despite popular belief, you can still have an elopement without a hike! Here are 15 super cool non-hiking activities in available for your Breckenridge elopement.
It’s a common myth that in order to have an adventure elopement in the mountains you need to plan a huge hike. Lucky for you, we’re here to debunk that crazy idea. There are so many amazing non-hiking activities you can do for your elopement!
We often joke that we’re the adventure elopement team for the lazy, here to recommend all our favorite lazy day non-hiking activities.
Adventure looks like a million different things – like deck beers, or picnics in the local park, or fire-roasted marshmallows – it doesn’t have to be a gnarly scale up the nearest mountain.
If you’re planning your Breckenridge elopement and getting stumped at how to spend the time together with your lover (and your photographer & videographer, too), here are a few ideas!
1. Have a catered Picnic
Or pack homemade sandwiches & your fave beer in your fave Yeti.
2. Go Flyfishing
3. Go Sledding
It’s as cute as it sounds.
4. Have a Pizza Party
After Ashton + Mitch said their vows and took portraits in the mountains, we all went back to their Breckenridge Airbnb for a pizza party! It was relaxed, fun, and the perfect way to wrap up their wedding day.
5. Hire a Dog Sled team for a backcountry tour
6. Go Camping & roast marshmallows
We’ll even share our fire pit & custom made chairs with ya.
7. Go Snowshoeing
Yeah, yeah. We get that this is basically hiking, only harder. We can recommend beautiful, FLAT areas, requiring minimal effort for loads of return. 🙂
8. Drive up your favorite Jeep trail
9. Go Horseback riding
10. Kayak (or SUP!) on Lake Dillon
11. Go to your favorite brewery or distillery
12. Chill at your fave coffee shop
Our local favorite is The Crown on Main Street Breck! Go for coffee & an breakfast sandwich. Or snag a boozy coffee. Or skip the coffee and get one of their specialty cocktails. The atmosphere is cute and perfect for a little wedding day cuddle.
13. Incorporate family traditions
14. Dance party in the woods (or on top of a mountain you can drive to)
We’ve got location ideas for both.
15. Above all else – do YOU!
The beauty of eloping is that you can make your day look EXACTLY how you want it to. There are absolutely no rules. Embrace it!
You don’t have to be “adventurous” in the sense that you wake up at 3am on Saturdays to hike 14ers to have an outdoor adventure elopement. That’s not for everyone and that’s SO OKAY.
So tell us, what does adventure look like for you?!
Does it look like this Christina + Cullen’s magical snowy day?
Or, does it look like Audrey + Tomo’s private vows in the meadow, surrounded by gorgeous fall color?
