Whitney’s vision for their at home maternity photos was right up our alley! Cozy & sweet, in the place they’d bring their baby home to – perfection.
From where our house sits, Leadville is just a stone’s throw away – almost. It’s right on the other side of our backyard view of Mount Sherman. If only there was a tunnel that went through, because we love it there! Such a cute town with beautiful buildings & homes. We were thrilled when Whitney & Richard reached out to have us shoot their at home maternity session!
We don’t photograph a ton of maternity sessions, but when we do – at home maternity photos are the way to go!
We joined Whitney & Richard (and their sweet fur babes!) in their new home on a sunny, warm morning. We shared stories of home-building woes, and the joys of raising children in our small mountain communities. It’s always such a cool thing to connect with such like-minded people, and as we always say – a commitment to settle in these rural mountain towns is a big one & one that you have to really want. Lots of normal things feel a little extra difficult here, but it’s truly so worth it.
The inspiration Pinterest board that Whitney shared when they first reached out literally made me squeal! I love the simplicity of easy moments at home. Beautiful photos don’t always need a “perfect”, views-for-days kind of location. So often, my most favorite work doesn’t even show the views – it shows the real moments. And that’s exactly what we accomplished with this session.
SO many sweet moments of quiet anticipation as they await their little boy. Even their precious pets joined in!
