If Crested Butte had a “peak summer” personality, Alex & Sam’s Ten Peaks summer wedding day was it. It was joyful, vibrant (you gotta see the sunset), and overflowing with wildflowers & heartwarming gentleness only the most perfect of days can carry.
The mountains at Ten Peaks, Crested Butte were showing off – and I mean, SHOWING OFF. They were blanketed in colors so bright it felt unreal. You could’ve told me the whole valley had decided to celebrate right alongside these two. Sometimes you pick a July wedding date & the wildflowers plan their bloom around it. All the nature-made color set the tone for Alex & Sam’s day perfectly. A wedding built on a foundation of joy, intention, and the kind of fun that comes naturally when you’re surrounded by your favorite people.
Shanna took our wedding photos earlier this year and did the most beautiful job and was also such a joy to work with! She is incredibly kind, talented, and attentive. She acknowledged and prioritized the photos that I wanted to have (candid photos of family and grandparents, the nature) and for that reason I will cherish our photos forever! We’re so grateful for her work, it was 1000% worth it. Highly recommend Basecamp Visual!!!

From the moment guests arrived at Ten Peaks, it was just an easy – at-home-for-the-holidays type of feel. That’s in thanks in part to Alex & Sam themselves. They are two of the most sincerely kind people I’ve ever met. They’re a perfect match! They’re the kind of couple who instantly make you feel welcome. The kind of people who laugh with their whole faces and make everyone around them feel like family. Their loved ones brought that same energy; filling the day with heartfelt feels, contagious smiles, & loads of happy tears.
Not even the summer thunderstorm could dampen the mood. In fact, it surprised us all with THE MOST VIBRANT sunset I have ever witnessed at a wedding!
When you’re getting married in the mountains, you don’t need much for details. The wildflowers that looked like they’d been painted onto the landscape kinda spoke for themselves. The golden-hour sunset that absolutely refused to be subtle (you gotta stop for the sunset photos!). And yes – a cookie cake that stole the show. With an incredible vendor team who brought every element to life, Alex & Sam’s Crested Butte celebration was summer wedding perfection soaked in happy color & abundant joy.
