The weather is always a gamble when you’re in the mountains. Luckily, Emily & Brett made the most of it & were gifted a gorgeous sunset at their epic Boreas Pass engagement session.

You know what they say – if you don’t like the weather in Colorado, wait 10 minutes.
The forecast called for no rain. Literally, like a 3% chance. But, as I got closer & closer to Breckenridge, it quickly became apparent the weather app lied. The dark clouds were looming, making their way across the mountains. We all got out of our cars & laughed about the “perfect weather” we’d talked about earlier that day.
Before I even had a chance to lift my camera & take a single photo, thunder rumbled & we all thought “well, shit.”
It’s part of the deal when you schedule sessions in the mountains – you just never know what the weather will do – and often, we just need to roll with whatever it hands us.
We spent a few minutes waiting it out, grabbed our trusty clear umbrellas, and went for it!
Emily & Brett were so trusting and relaxed. It didn’t matter that it was sprinkling & the skies were dark. They just laughed together, dancing through the wildflowers & enjoying their favorite drinks – and you know what? We were rewarded with the most epic post-storm sunset to wrap up the session.
Breckenridge provides endless options for dreamy photo locations, but (for obvious reasons) Boreas Pass will forever be one of our favorites.
Emily & Brett – if your engagement session was any indication, we’re going to have an amazing time at your wedding next fall!
