In the dictionary for Most Relaxed Wedding Day Ever you’ll find Kelsey & Matt’s Boreas Pass winter elopement. Promise.

Kelsey & Matt’s Boreas Pass winter elopement was exactly the kind of wedding day that makes you remember that weddings don’t have to be complicated to be meaningful.
From the very start, everything felt easy. No rush. No pressure. Just two people who were genuinely excited to get married and fully soak in every single moment along the way.
We kicked things off at their straight-from-the-80s Airbnb with detail photos & prep. Our favorite part of prep is the challenge of working with what we’re given. Perfect light (or not), cool art (or not, haha) – whatever the spaces gives us, we’re going to make it work.
Sidebar: which isn’t to say we don’t deeply appreciate a beautifully lit, clean prep space (because we do!) – it’s just not always in the wedding day cards.
This one, though, awarded us the most unexpectedly perfect spot: a green tiled & plaid wallpapered bathroom that felt like a time capsule. This kind of personality made for the kind of detail shots you can’t plan—but always hope for. It set the tone for the day immediately: relaxed, fun, and unapologetically them.
Before heading up to Boreas Pass, we made a very important stop – crepes at the infamous Crepes A la Cart.
Where the lines are often long, but the joy is worth the wait. Because honestly, is it even an elopement if you don’t grab your favorite food along the way? Wrapped in winter layers, savoring something warm and sweet, it felt less like a wedding timeline and more like a perfect Colorado day date that just happened to include getting married.
Their vows took place with those sweeping winter views that Breckenridge is known for. Snow-dusted mountains, crisp air. It was perfect. The vows were heartfelt & grounded – just so real & every bit them.
From start to finish, the vibes were simply top-notch. Carefree. Chill. Joyful without the pressure. Kelsey & Matt reminded us that elopements can (and should!) be playful and meaningful all at once.
Sometimes – okay all the time – the best wedding days are the ones that feel the least like a production and the most like a real life, beautifully lived.
Take a look & be inspired, soaking in the easy joy of their Boreas Pass winter elopement.
And their gallery – so much fun, oh my gosh! The detail photos, our stop for crepes & Kelsey’s plaid shawl wrap were some highlights.
Planning your own winter elopement in Colorado? We’d love to be there to capture it all (& still have spots for this year!)
