In our latest short term rental highlight, we’re thrilled to share with you the best Airbnb in the Black Hills: the beautiful Sheep Hill Chalet.

If there’s anywhere else we’d live, it’d be the Black Hills of South Dakota. If you’ve never been, the time is now! The rollings hills & secluded lakes are so beautiful. There’s certainly a sense of comfort, for us, that comes being in South Dakota, too. The Midwest is special & we’ll always be grateful to say we’re from there.

The first time we got to stay at Sheep Hill Chalet, we were blown away by the quiet beauty. It’s a newer build by the owners, but it blends seamlessly into the landscape, giving the feeling like it belongs there.

John & Kaylee, the owners of Sheep Hill Chalet, have a great eye for detail & have beautifully merged antique with modern. Here’s what Kaylee shared about working with us:

Basecamp Visual wowed me with their photography and expertise! They captured the exact essence of the feeling of our cabin we wanted to evoke as a rustic modern vacation rental! Basecamp Visual provided whole room captures as well as close ups to really get the textures and feeling of the decor and furnishings. They were very professional and easy to work with! I am so happy with our photos and helping us grow our Airbnb and brand at Sheep Hill Chalet!

Visiting South Dakota is always a treat for us.

We’re both born & raised there and get back to the eastern side of the state usually twice per year! We laugh, though, whenever anyone comments: “why would you ever leave if you’re from South Dakota?!” 100% of the time they’re thinking western South Dakota, and 100% of the time if that was where we were from, they’d be spot on, haha. Spots like Spearfish Canyon, the Badlands National Park, historic Deadwood, Crazy Horse Memorial, Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park and more make the entirety of western South Dakota an amazing place to visit.
