Sapphire Point is quintessential Colorado. It’s what pops up whenever you reach for Breckenridge or mountain engagement session locations – and for good reason! Devin & Travis’ Sapphire Point engagement photos will make you smile, and probably make you fall in love with the mountains, too!

Located just north of Breckenridge and south of I-70, Sapphire Point is a popular spot for tourists and photographers alike! It’s easy to get to, has incredible views of the 10 Mile Range and Lake Dillon, and if you’re willing to visit on a weekday or when it’s a little chilly, you may get lucky and avoid the biggest crowds.

A few ideas (and things to remember) when considering Sapphire Point for your engagement photos!

Hit up a local Brewery first!

D+T went to Breckenridge Brewery for a couple beers ahead of going over to Sapphire. It added variety to their photos and was just so fun! We also made a quick stop at the beach on the drive up the mountain to Sapphire! Loads of great spots right around here.

Plan around sunset!

The sun will set behind the mountains across from the lake, giving you some incredible light and beautiful photos!

Prepare for crowds.

Sapphire Point is a super popular spot – it will likely be fairly busy, both with tourists and with other sessions! That’s okay, just be prepared that you won’t have the place to yourselves. The good news? Your photographer (hey, it’s me!) can show you some great spots to sneak away from the crowds a bit.

Respect the land.

As always, please be respectful of the area. Adhere to any signage indicating current restoration efforts & blocked off areas. Take out anything you bring in, and please – FOR THE LOVE OF THE MOUNTAINS – don’t litter the area with glitter or confetti or rose petals or anything else.
